Take me back..

Take me back to the beautiful past
And freeze time to let the good times last

Time has flown fast and swift
Leaving amidst relationships a huge drift

Friends and foes find me cold
As I grapple with the pain of a dream sold

All yesterdays seem like a past life
The pain has numbed from many a strife

Nothing affects..nothing matters..
Indifference has bound me in its fetters

I want to jump with joy, I want to feel the pain
To be struck with wonder, To be fraught with disdain

May this end leaving me back to my old bubbling self
To scorn at shadows and believe in the elf

Take me back to the beautiful past
And freeze time to let the good times last

Was talking about the same thing at home couple of days back. Looks like we really understand time only after its gone.

BTW as someone mentioned in the comments…the photo on the top is distracting πŸ™‚ does not seem to fit with the flow of things.

    Rk – πŸ™‚ Flattered..
gaizabonts – I guess you specialise in comparative study of similarities. Well, whatever that phrase means.. I liked the sound of it. πŸ™‚
Mahesh – Yeah. The present is never good enough. Past looks beautiful, future looks promising and we let time slip by in the present. Happens.
Shall work on the photo. Got quite a few comments on the same.

when the yearning, the longing thins,
the contempt for a time gone by begins,
in this fight, time always wins,
for there is only one direction this world spins.

who wouldn’t want to go back to a time when worries of others always seemed a mystery, because we never knew of anything so serious ourselves. thats the irony of life, “to want to grow up when young, and want to go back when older”. its more of a paradox actually, the way you put it, poetic expression apart, if time really stood still, we couldn’t savour those moments, because it is in their passing that we cherish them.

jokes apart, it was really good.

    P.S.
thanks for commenting on my post, just got to read it today(a little busy???!!!). a couple of doubts thoughts:
